WELCOME TO RIDGEWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our primary school includes pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.

The primary school, under the direction of the primary school principal, provides a diverse curriculum which promotes the intellectual, cultural, and social development of the child.

Primary teachers seek to develop effective work patterns and basic academic skills. Students take a traditional program of math, spelling, grammar, reading, penmanship, social studies, and science, as well as physical education, art, economics, and music. Math, spelling and grammar classes are accelerated by one year, starting in first grade.

Students also have computer experience, enrichment field trips, group projects, and library activities.

In fourth grade all students participate in the band program and learn to play a musical instrument. Primary students also participate in guidance programs to aid in their self-development.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM
Each school day students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade may participate in the Before and After School Care Program. Before school care is available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. After school care is available from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. This care program is conducted by regular members of the Ridgewood faculty.
